Liposuction

Liposuction is not intended as a surgery to help with weight loss – instead, it is actually often performed on people who are around an average weight. The procedure uses a specially designed pump or vacuum to break up fat cells beneath the surface of the skin and ‘suck’ them out. This means that it can be an effective way to shape, tone and contour specific body areas.

The fat removal procedure can be performed on many areas of the body, but is most popular on the stomach, hips, thighs and upper arms. Because your body shouldn’t replace the fat cells removed from these areas, liposuction is regarded as a long-lasting surgical solution for excess fat.

More About Liposuction Treatment

How much does a Liposuction treatment cost?

As a responsible provider of cosmetic surgery, we know that each individual’s procedure is different and will be tailored specifically around the customer. This means that costs for liposuction can vary, but you will be given an idea of costs at your consultation.

How long does a Liposuction surgery takes?

Liposuction usually takes between one and three hours, depending on how much fat has to be removed and the area being treated.

How long will i have to stay in hospital?

After your liposuction surgery, you may be able to return home the same day, or you may prefer an overnight stay in one of our hospitals. You can discuss this, amongst other details, before your procedure.

What is the maximum number of fat that can be removed during Liposution?

This can be anything between three and four litres of fat per operation. If you need more fat than this removed, our consultants are likely to recommend multiple surgeries, or refer you to our sister company The Hospital Group for a weight loss consultation.

What area can be treated with Liposuction?

Liposuction can treat any area of the body, but popular areas include hips, thighs, stomach, chin, knees and the buttocks.

What happens if i gain weight after Liposuction surgery?

If you gain weight after liposuction, the area treated can also gain some of this weight. However, if you keep a healthy lifestyle and diet, you can continue to have the same results post-treatment.
